Why We Walk
Every veteran has a story — and every hero deserves to be remembered. The march begins at the Vietnam Memorial, continues through the Fort Bayard National Cemetery, and returns to the park, three miles walked in the name of those who never came home.
Coming together matters to this community and to the families of lost service members. Free food and drinks are served for all participants after the walk.

Honor a Veteran
Submit their photo
Registered walkers may submit a photo of their veteran and headstone. The deadline to submit is September 18, 2026. Honored veterans appear on the memorial banner displayed during veterans' holidays.
Memorial plaques
Plaques are presented to families after the walk. If you have honored a veteran previously, we will still honor them, but will not provide another plaque, banner photo, or name on the T-shirt. Extra plaques are available for $40 — just let us know.
